Everything can be helped with improved circulation.

Ginkgo has been seen as an effective treatment, as have many homeopathic remedies.
Reply:It kind of depends on why you have the tinnitus. Do you have fluid in your ears? Ginko won%26#039;t help that.
Reply:According to a research group that follows such things, ginkgo has a %26quot;C%26quot; rating for tinitus. That means that there is at least some evidence (inconclusive) that ginkgo will help tinitus.

So, I suggest you give it a try. Choose a good brand. A great place to research brands is http://www.nutritionaltree.com.
Reply:um, after you have started it, has it stopped? or does the ringing come and go?

I do agree with you, I doubt any serious study has ever been done to back up your doc%26#039;s claim.
Reply:Jen D has the right idea... Ginkgo helps increase circulation to your head, and that includes all areas of your head (including the delicate tissues in your ear). It may take some time (possibly a few months to several months) to notice a difference because your body is trying to repair the damage, but it can be done.

And there actually have been studies done on this over time, and the general population does notice an increase of benefits for tinnitus that is based from ear damage. In fact, there are combination products on the market for the ears that include Ginkgo because of this. The biggest problem that people run into is that it%26#039;s not going to act quickly or show benefits within a few weeks.... this is more closely related to Calcium healing a broken leg (giving the nutrients so your body can heal itself) and will take a good amount of time. Good luck!
